Twisted, textured, unmistakably itself. The rope chain has a slight sparkle to it even without a single stone, purely from the way the links spiral and catch light from every angle. It's a chain with personality, which means it can also hold its own without a pendant at all.
If you do want to add something, keep it simple. A rope chain paired with an overly delicate pendant tends to overpower it.

The Figaro Chain
Recognisable by its pattern, a run of small links followed by one longer link, repeating down the length of the chain. It's got rhythm to it, more decorative than a box chain but less textured than a rope, which makes it a genuinely easy in-between choice.
